Our Story

We believe if it’s good for you, it’s good for us.

This good-business philosophy is lived out in how we treat each other, our Members and the communities we live in. Proud to be Texas-based since 1967, we always honor the credit union credo of “people helping people.” While we deliver a variety of financial services, we are driven by respect and fairness. As we continue to innovate and grow, we also hold fast to the timeless standards of honor, integrity, and service. Whether you need a credit union to call home, a loan for your first car, or help in building financial security, our Members choose us because it’s good business to be good to our Members.

Our History

For the past five decades and counting, our goal at Lone Star Credit Union has always been to provide a legacy of service and honesty for our Members — and that’s something we take seriously. We’ve come a long way and have seen many changes over the years, but our beliefs haven’t been one of them. For us, it’s still all about the Members, and that’s not going to change any time soon!

Our Future

Lone Star Credit Union resides in a unique position within both the landscape of financial institutions and Texas. A community credit union, LSCU serves Members not only in seven counties across the state, but also across the globe. We strive to focus on both Member needs and technological innovation, believing that success in each of these areas is more than possible, it’s a necessity.

Role of community credit unions in a digitized world

The financial world has changed more in the last 30 years than perhaps in any other time in history. Checks are seldom written and checkbook registers have gone the way of the dinosaur. Throughout massive change in the banking world, community credit unions have stood steadfast, anchoring the community through lending, financial counseling, and volunteering. We aim to serve all Members, from those who visit to deposit their pay in person to those who never step foot in a branch. Digital tools and personalization dovetail to form the best combination of smart, fast, and adept Member service.

Holiday Closure: All branches and the Member Service Center will close at noon on December 24 and be closed all day on December 25.
